Biography

From shooting award-winning student films to working with A-list Hollywood celebrities, Brenton Spencer has made a name for himself as one of the most talented directors of photography and directors in the film and television industry.

Starting his career as a poet in the creative writing program at the University of British Columbia, Brenton's passion for cinematography led him to transfer to the film and television program where he won several awards for his work.

Working with many well known names in the industry, including Kim Cattrall, Dennis Hopper, Carl Weathers, and Christopher Plummer, Brenton has established himself as a versatile and talented filmmaker. He won a Leo Award for Best Direction in a Dramatic Series and was also nominated for a Juno Award for Best Music Video.

With a long list of credits in both film and television, Brenton has directed and worked as a director of photography on popular shows like The Flash, Stargate: Atlantis, The Outer Limits, and Sanctuary. He has also directed feature films in the horror-suspense genre, including the teenage cult classic Blown Away.

Brenton holds a MFA in Theatre and Film from UBC and is a member of the CSC. With a passion for cinematography, writing, and directing, Brenton Spencer continues to push the boundaries of film and television.
